Warren Clarke Back From Injury v Morpeth

With Callam Mendez-Jones suffering with flu, a debut was given to Karl Byrne in the defeat to Morpeth on Saturday following his Friday transfer from Grantham Town. Byrne had a brief spell at the Silverlands last season, without making a debut, before moving to Frickley and then he transferred to Boston United last summer where he is still registered in the Conference North. The Bucks are next in action on Saturday with a visit to Bamber Bridge at 3pm.


After a good week with 2 away wins versus mid-table opponents, Buxton slipped 2 places as Morpeth came from 2 goals down to secure both victory and a 'double' on a first visit to the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium. On a rainy, cold Saturday 'the Bucks' had looked good value for a lead established by the 20th minute, particularly as they were attacking the Railway End into the teeth of a strong wind and were without regulars Callam Mendez-Jones (ill) and Alex Byrne (1-match suspension).Yet debutant Karl Byrne from Boston Utd at full-back, marauding on the right, and midfielder Simon Lenighan, winning tackle after tackle throughout, proved well worthy of their places....Full Report HERE
