Sunday Round-Up

Nico De Girolamo with two goals against Glossop

It has been another busy week of pre-season Silverlands action for the Bucks with a 0-0 draw against Trafford last Wednesday and a convincing 5-0 victory over Glossop North End on Saturday.

Manager Paul Phillips has used the matches to look at more trialists and midfielder Paul Marshall has signed on for the coming season. Marshall (30) is a former Manchester City youth player who played football league at Blackpool, Port Vale and Walsall. In non-league he has turned out for the likes of FC Halifax Town, Stockport County and Alfreton before signing for the Bucks from Curzon Ashton.

The match against Trafford was largely forgetful with Martin Pilkington missing the Bucks best chance from the spot with his shot being well saved by former Glossop keeper Matt Cooper. On Saturday the Bucks created many chances against a much-changed from last season and secretive Glossop side whose failure to clear set-pieces was the main reason for the 5-0 scoreline. Nico bagged a 'brace' with further goals from Diego, Pilkington and Roscoe.

We are next in action on Tuesday (30th) with an away trip to Northwich Victoria (the match will be played at Witton) and then next Saturday we make the trip to Leek Town.
