MIDFIELDER CALLUM LEIGH JOINS BUCKS

Callum Leigh

Preparations for the new season are underway and central or defensive midfielder Callum Leigh has joined Buxton from Bamber Bridge. Callum, 22 and from Manchester, was previously with Mossley and had spells with Rochdale and Oldham Athletic as a youth before going full-time at Welsh Premier League side The New Saints. Full of energy, he is strong on the ball and something of a free-kick specialist.

Three of the fans' favourites at the Tarmac Silverlands, striker Diego De Girolamo, creative midfielder Tommy Elliott and central defender Josh Granite, have signed new deals with the Bucks. Players departing the Tarmac Silverlands are...Connor Brown, Max Dearnley, Sam Minihan, Sam Osborne, Max Hunt, Adam Livingstone, Jak McCourt, Eoin McKeown, Ryan Qualter (Signed for FC United of Manchester), Luke Shiels, Curtis Weston and Jake Wright. Loan players Joe Young, Dylan Mottley-Henry, Joe Ackroyd, Sean Etaluku, Max Brogan and Jake Hull have all returned to their parent clubs.

Connor Kirby and Zaine Francis-Angol are both in discussion with the club over new deals . Further signings will be announced when known in what is going to be a very busy summer at the club.

In other news; Buxton FC sends condolences to the family and friends of Hope Valley League secretary Richard Rutherford who sadly passed away last weekend. Richard was a well-known figure at many grounds, including the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium, and as well as being a 'ground hopper' was a well-renowned reviewer of both Football and Cricket publications.
