We can confirm that captain Josh Granite has signed for Derbyshire neighbours Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee.
Josh, who signed for the Bucks from Barrow in August 2020, will forever be remembered as one of the most successful captains in the club’s history, after guiding us to the Northern Premier League title in 2022 as well as consecutive Derbyshire Senior Cup titles and back-to back appearances in the FA Cup Second Round, making a total of 118 appearances and registering 1 goal.
Chairman David Hopkins said “We will miss Josh not only for the great captain he has been for us, but also as a person. He encapsulates everything we would want in a Buxton Football Club player, a committed leader on the pitch and a fantastic ambassador for the club off it. He leaves with our very best wishes and thanks”.
