It has been an incredibly busy week at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium. On the player front we are delighted to announce the signings of defender Kyle Harrison and the vastly experienced Brian Wilson.
Harrison has been on loan from Ashton United but we have secured his services now following a transfer on Tuesday. Kyle has been in tremendous form through his short loan period, including his performance at left-back last Saturday. Today we have signed right-sided defender/midfielder Brian Wilson following his departure from Barrow. Wilson has had a long career in the full-time game having first come through the ranks at Stoke City.
Tomorrow we entertain league leaders South Shields (3pm) with the Bucks still looking for their first league victory of the campaign. There were certainly signs of improvement last Saturday though with the 5-0 demolition of Corby Town in the Emirates FA Cup and with players coming back from injury there is certainly competition for places in the starting line up.
The draw for the 3rd round of the Emirates FA Cup gave the Bucks possibly the tie of the round with former League side York City visiting the Silverlands on Saturday 5th of October at 3pm. Former Buxton assisting manager Tim Ryan is on the staff at York at the moment and Diego De Girolamo will be facing one of his former sides, having been on loan at Bootham Crescent from Sheffield United over 3 stints. Obviously we are expecting a large crowd for this match and spectators are advised to arrive early at the gates.
The Bucks continued interest in the FA Cup has meant the home league game against Warrington Town next Tuesday and the away match at Basford have been called off. See the updated fixture list for October below but please be aware this is subject to change.
One other piece of fixture news is that our newly-formed Academy side will play FC Halifax Town in the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium next Wednesday (the 2nd of October) with a 2pm kick off in the afternoon. Supporters are welcome to attend with prices of just £2 and £1.
