This was a commanding performance by Buxton to beat Darlington 2-0 (Tuesday August 20th), and with the visitors showing energy and effort it was a highly entertaining evening for the Tarmac Silverlands crowd. Team manager John McGrath described it as "an electric atmosphere". Darlington boss Steve Watson said: "We were beaten by a better side, simple as that."
Quality first-half strikes by Josh Popoola (Pictured) and Ethan Fitzhugh, after 22 and 37 minutes respectively, provided the most important statistic, with the Bucks also having 67% possession, notching up 19 goal attempts, six on target, plus 11 corners against one.
John McGrath said afterwards: "Brilliant in the first half and quality remained for the full 90 minutes. There was loads of energy from everyone, putting two halves together in positive fashion. Full Match Report HERE
"We had plenty of chances to increase the score but what matters is another three points, nine out of nine now. The crowd kept high volume support going throughout and the lads really appreciated that. Now for Peterborough. We'll be ready."
The Bucks go to Peterborough Sports on Saturday, kick-off 3pm. Next at home will be newly-promoted Merseyside team Marine on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm) with hopes high for a bumper crowd.
