Two goals early in the second half set up Buxton for all three points and a league double against Hyde United. Hosts Hyde pulled back a goal but the Bucks were in control for much of the game, beating the strong wind as well as opponents to move to third in the table.
There was a first goal for recent signing Jason Gilchrist and another by Warren Clarke, but the day's downside was Tommy Elliot being sent off in the dying minutes, along with a Hyde player, after a bout of pushing that the referee found unacceptable. Full Match Report HERE
Manager Steve Cunningham said: "Fans have seen high standards of football for the last few games, without getting rewards. It's not been easy, but today it all came together. There was outstanding work rate all around, with Jason Gilchrist getting the benefit of his non-stop effort with an opening goal, the first of many from him, we can expect.
"I am proud of the lads and I can't thanks our fans enough. There's a big test next week and we need this great support to continue."
Skipper Jamie Ward added: "Three points today is massive and it was a solid performance. There's 15 games left and we can build on today's result."
The Tarmac Silverlands game against second-placed South Shields kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.
