Buxton's revival under the leadership of recently-appointed manager, Gary Hayward, gathered pace in a pulsating 'derby' at Causeway Lane on Boxing Day. Despite conceding twice in the opening 5 minutes, 'the Bucks' ,unchanged from the 5-0 thrashing of Scarborough, battled back to score 4 times without reply,3 of the goals coming in the 2nd half.
In form Matlock, demolished 6-0 in the Easter Monday, last meeting of the clubs, made a dream start as visiting 'keeper, Grant Shenton, possibly fouled, lost his grip on a lofted ball close to goal and ex-Buxton striker, Luke Hinsley, touched in from only a yard.
